I'm sure the socialist... um I mean poster, included the retirement packages (locally it's what they made as a teacher for the rest of their life after they retire) and 3 months vacation per year, plus every major holiday off, 2 weeks off for winter break, two weeks off for spring break, full deluxe medical 100% paid for them and their family.... I'm sure they took all that into consideration when they came up with the $45K a year versus other jobs... I'm not saying that teachers don't deserve what they get, but the poster is obviously on the side of the socialists...

Article is full of fail. Average teachers make in excess of $70,000, work 180 days a year and have so many benefits out the ass that they have stopped taking about it as its embarrassing. In the state I live they DON'T PAY social security taxes either but can still collect. How is that for a perk?

Try looking up "rubber rooms" in NYC and tell me teachers are not paid enough. My kids are in the school system and at least a few teachers have not the slightest interest in helping kids with problems, just want to push them through with as little fuss as possible.

I know a lot of teachers. There are only a few I would trust teaching my kids. The rest are a bunch of under worked, over paid liberal whiners.
