The Giger bar isn't modeled after the movie "Alien", it has been modeled by the swiss artist HR Giger, wo also modeled the Aliens as well as Species.

The strange design of this bar means that wherever you sit, you can see and hear the music from the live stage as if you were sitting right next to it.
