That is my way of dealing with repairs in all cases. It has helped me to keep the my piggybank healthy and gave loads of pleasure. Fixed in this way, my cars 5x, washingmachine 2X, dishwasher 2X, loads of laptops of family, my own desktop, central-heating 3X, mobile phones, etc. It also helped that I am a mechanic, electrician and very thirsty for knew knowledges. All they needed where cheap fixes. A small percentage of the replacement value. Thumbs up for the guy her above.
to be fair this isn't really about trusting a car dealership... more like an industry-wide practice that begins on the corporate end.
that said, the internet is a beautiful thing... and it looks like there is a potential business opportunity here, what with the rise of the hybrid.
even if someone on craiglist charged a few hundred bucks to clean the corrosion and/or replace a cell or two, it would still be an enormous savings for the consumer.
nothing here requires an experienced electrician IMO. a little common sense, a little caution, checking the internet for examples... all of this to save $4400 seems pretty modest for the average handy guy.
but be carefully people ...seafty first think 3 times what you do next step, it can coast your life when you try to make it chaepprice at last..............smoke weed i say
