this is all sound advice from what i've studied and experienced.
regardless of whether you've committed a crime or not, you never want to cause yourself accidental headaches. be polite, but firm. 99% of the time that will work.

1. Never say anything to a cop
2. Never lie to a cop
3. When in doubt see number 1.
As the lawyer said - don't say anything. Pick a spot just over their head or stare at their forehead. They may think you're looking at them but are not ... stay in a daze ....
Regarding the Miranda warning: It states that you can remain silent. They then ask if you understand what the said. If you said "yes" then you gave up the right to be silent. Let them read the thing and just stay mum ... not a word other than "lawyer" .....

I think, maybe, do what they tell you should be in there, somewhere. From what I remember, a large percentage of the people who were shot by police had their situations get out of control after disobeying police orders. I am NOT saying that those cops had a right to shoot to kill, but, when you grapple with a cop, run from them, or reach for their gun, you must know that it is not going to go in your favor. Basically, don't give them any reason to shoot you. Even if you are falsely arrested, you are still alive, and a lawyer can bring charges against them.
