Isabella, 8, is missing her left arm but she was recently gifted a prosthetic limb by Stephen Davies a volunteer from Team Unlimited e-Nable which is a company committed to providing prosthetic limbs for disabled children around the world.
When Stephen heard of Isabella’s story, he immediately began work to create a custom fitted arm just for her. He made sure to add in vibrant colors so that Isabella would be proud of her new limb, and boy was she excited to show it off.
The limb will take some getting used to for Isabella as it relies on muscles that she hasn’t used in a while for movement. Using the muscles in her arms, her new hand can contract on demand, allowing her to pick items up with ease.
The device may seem big to some, but it’s for good reason. The components inside the hand must be a certain size to ensure functionality. But with more time and research these limbs will only get better.
