California Coastline Is Collapsing Leaving Houses Hanging on the Edge (15 pics)

After the powerful storms of El Niño stroke repeatedly the coastline of California, the state of emergency was declared in the area, namely in the city of Pacifica. The residents of several apartment buildings were asked to evacuate. However, 5 of them refuse to do it as they don't think to be in danger and some of them have simply no where to go.

In the 1997 picture you can see signs of erosion on the wall as it doesn't slope up to the top. So if it does erode, then why build a house near it unless you are completely stupid.
