You see no stars in the sky because the surface is too bright and shiny for a camera to expose everything properly. Like when you take a photo of someone standing in front of a bright window - you can expose for their face, but then the outside behind them becomes overexposed. If you expose for the outside, then you can't see their face. The MOON is many many time brighter. It's getting direct sunlight with no atmosphere!! Hard to photograph!
