Dorothea Puente - This innocent old lady was dubbed by the Sacramento Police Department as the "Death House Landlady". In the 1980s, Puente rented out rooms in her house to elderly and mentally handicap people in the Sacramento area. She would cash the social security checks that came in the mail for her boarders and if anyone complained they would be killed and buried in her backyard. She was finally discovered in 1988 with the police finding nine bodies in her backyard.
