These photos were taken by a Russian pioneer in color photography Sergey Prokudin-Gorsky who traveled the Russian Empire between 1909 and 1912 documenting its daily life, population and architecture. A bunch of photographers wanted to recreate these historical pictures and visited the same places to make it happen.
Sergi Basoli quit his job three years ago and decided to travel the Mediterranean Sea by kayak. He started from his home town of Barcelona and went till Sicily along the coastline passing many islands. He found a dong on his way and now they are traveling together discovering new places, cultures and meeting a lot of people. They‘ve paddled 5.000 km so far.
