Michu Meszaros was the man behind the costume in the NBC sitcom ALF. He was 2 feet 9 inches (84 cm) tall and was unofficially the "smallest man on Earth." Unfortunately, he had suffered numerous health issues since a stroke eight years ago and fell into a coma on June 12 after he was found unconscious in his home. He never recovered from the coma and on June 13, he died at the age of 76.

ALF was actually a puppet operated by the co-creator and two others.
They used this guy a little bit for shots of ALF running around, but that was it. He was gone after the first season.
