China’s coast is under siege by an unusual enemy. The coastline in Quingao has been hit by a massive algae bloom. This does not seem to bother beachgoers, who even use algae to protects their skin from the sun. Although algae is not harmful for humans, it is hazardous for marine life and incurs huge cleanup costs.
