Atkins and Shields became overnight stars in the early '80s with the coming-of-age blockbuster “The Blue Lagoon” (1980). While Atkins won a Golden Globe nomination for New Star of the Year in a Motion Picture (1981), Shields was named as Time magazine’s face of the '80s.
