Chuck Palahniuk, the author of the book said that he came up with the idea after getting beaten up during a camping trip. He found it fascinating that nobody in his work place acknowledged his cuts and bruises, but would rather ask him things such as “How was your weekend?”
Brad and Helena spent a total of 3 days recording ‘orgasmic sounds’ for their sex scenes.

Tyler Durden appears 4 separate times in the film for a single frame at a time before being formally introduced as a character.

The brown station wagon seen during the first fight outside of the bar is the same one that Michael Douglas hides in in 1997’s ‘The Game’
