Ballantine’s whiskey in Dumbarton, Scotland used a flock of geese to guard their liquor from 1959 to 2012. The belief was that no one could get away with trespassing because the geese would make such a loud commotion that the residents nearby would hear. When new owners took over they sent the geese to an animal sanctuary, stating that they were “no longer required for security purposes.”
