Gordon was in Costa Rica filming “The Big Fish Fight” when he and his crew decided to have an episode dedicated to the investigation of fishermen illegally killing and selling sharks for shark fin soup. While swimming, Gordon found a sack of shark fins attached to a fishing boats hull. He threw it onto the deck and called the fishermen out. After a heated argument broke out, Gordon and his crew found themselves facing some rifles. The Costa Rican police urged them to leave, saying that “‘if you set foot in there, they’ll stab you.”
