Zhao Yongjiu, 56, works as a janitor in Shenyang, capital of northeastern China’s Liaoning Province, and although his monthly earnings are 2400 yuan (around 350$), 600 of which he spends on his monthly rent, over the last 30 years he donated approximately 170000 yuan (almost 25$ thousand) to charity. His father died in 1976 and he and his mother barely survived since then, managing to pull it through only thanks to their neighbors helping them. So, he decided to give back to society, having already donated enough to fund 37 impoverished students in China.
