He started his project when he was in his 50s and after 36 years of heavy work he finished the water canal that was 9400 meters long, which his village in the mountainous province of Guizhou in the southwest of China desperately needed to get water. Over the course of these years, more than 300 of village’s residents helped him, but mostly it was just his work.
