This time they engaged in war with Pure Water Ice and Tea Company in Lubbock, Texas, which even has its own name already, which refers to the locations of the stores – “Battle of 4th and Frankford.” It all started with Pure Water Ice and Tea Company setting up their sign to say, “Kliff Kingsbury drinks for free.” (Kingsbury is the head football coach for Texas Tech, which is in Lubbock.) Soon after, Wendy’s offered Kingsbury free food and drink and got called out by Pure Water for the familiar sign. And there is no stop to this war.
While Kingsbury hasn’t taken either store up on their offers, the sign war was officially underway.
Pure Water fired back soon after with a sign of their own: “You want beef Wendy’s? You’ve got it!”
Wendy’s popped off: “Anything you can brew we can brew better. Try our Fruitea Chillers.”
But Pure Water wasn’t going to let that slide: “Good thing our tea is stronger than your sign game!”
Another Wendy’s sign read, “Wendy’s parking only, violators will be served Pure Water.”
Pure Water made their sign say, “You better check yourself before you wreck yourself Wendy’s!”
Wendy’s responded, “Come through and get served. You deserve it.”
Pure Water hit back: “Burgers aren’t the only thing square at Wendy’s.”
And, in the end, Wendy’s threw down, “Everyone knows Wendy’s squares up. You ain’t bout that life.”
Absolutely savage.
