Leatherback Sea Turtle
Growing up to 2.13 m (7 ft) long and exceeding 900 kg (2,000 lb), the Leatherback Sea Turtle is the largest of all living turtles and is the fourth-heaviest reptile behind three crocodilians. Once prevalent in every ocean except the Arctic and Antarctic, the leatherback, whose evolutionary roots date back to more than 100 million years, is now a threatened species.
