This is one of the world’s largest libraries with rare books and manuscripts and various literary archives, such as early manuscripts. There is a room that holds 180,000 volumes in the central part of the library and there are more than a million volumes in the basement. The temperature and the humidity are both carefully controlled so as to protect the heritage for future generations.
