The Aztec Warriors
By the age of 17, Aztec boys were expected to be ready to be considered warriors. To these warriors, bravery was the highest honour, and the most respected and feared warriors wore full Jaguar hides. They preferred to fight with stabbing javelins, spears, and clubs, rather than swords. For defense, a round shield with feathers for decoration were used. In order to move up the ranks, a warrior would have to capture enemies. Captives were often used for sacrificial ceremonies to bring good to the kingdom.
