The Hagia Sophia, one of the most beautiful buildings in the world, has some odd scratches inside. For hundreds of years, no one knew what they were, so they left them.

It was eventually discovered that they are Futhark runes. Some Norseman far from home, possibly a member of the Varangian Guard, left a message for us:
