According to Screen Gems (the company that brought the Resident Evil franchise to the screen), this movie’s on their production slate. Sam Raimi is on board to produce, and the screenplay is being written by the guy who wrote the Uncharted series.

Except, as of 2016, the adaptation’s been in development hell as the studio and the writer are having creative disagreements.
