Pitt’s first nomination took place in 1996 for his supporting part in Twelve Monkeys. The second one took place in 2009 for his part in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, but he was once again out of luck. In 2012, Brad Pitt even had 2 nominations for Best Actor and Producer and won the Best Picture Academy Award in Moneyball and lost the Oscar again. Eventually, he managed to win his long-awaited golden statue, but it was not for his acting, it was as the producer of 12 Years a Slave.
