Brasil had 43000 and they have a law, the "statute of disarmament" that discourages the sale of weapons to the general population. Weapons used in homicides are usually, when found, smuggled or stolen from the security forces themselves.

BS. I'm a teacher, too, and one of the statistics we were told is that you're more likely to get struck by lightning on school grounds than be shot.

Of course, all of this would also be totally unnecessary if everyone was able to freely carry. No one would bother trying to shoot up a school if they knew at least 1/2 of the people there could and would shoot back.

And have you seen most teachers? Yeah, they're going to go hand to hand with a shooter and take them out. Sure. Just another example of GRRRRLLL power trying to be realistic. JC-LOL

After being taken to task for her “and likely” comment, she felt the need to clarify with the following disclaimer: I don’t say “likely” to offend. I say likely because mental health is a GROWING issue in this country. It is steadily being underfunded, yet guns are becoming more and more accessible (legally). Interesting. But that’s a convo for another day.”
