He has survived his train falling into a lake, several car crashes, a bus running off the road into a river, he shot himself, and he even fell from a plane and landed in a pile of hay, saving his life yet again. While this seems to make Mr. Selak both the luckiest and the unluckiest person, he later won about one million dollars in a lottery which puts the odds squarely in his favor.
