#1 is totally utterly b@#$$%t. By adding the screw you are introducing inaccuracies, not to mention that if you are measuring trimmings or pre-painted material you will ruin it. Yes, it is handy if you need to measure from a crew or nail, but any good tape measure has tiny spikes on the lip that grips when you measure.

The person who started these false "correct ways of doing things" is an absolute d@#$$%s.
Push on the tiny holes in the Toffifay container to take the chocolate out without struggling.
You might have thought that the container was designed that way for aesthetic reasons but in reality, it was designed that way for practical reasons. When you push on the “magic” marks, the chocolate gets released and you don’t have to dig with your finger in order to get it out.
