#3 Those are the actual flowers, each one being a complete, individual flower. What we call 'a sunflower' is not a single flower; it's a mass of very small flowers. ...Also of interest: those little flowers open in the Fibonacci sequence.
This sunflower has hundreds of tinier flowers in its center.
