The authorities of Salzburg wouldn’t allow the creators of The Sound of Music to put Nazi flags in the streets of the city. Then, the director of the film, Robert Wise, threatened them that instead, he would use the documentary shots where the inhabitants of the city greet Hitler. The authorities gave in right away and gave him permission.
