The obscenely high prices for medical costs are a result of the decades-old Unholy Alliance among the insurance companies, the drug companies, and the AMA. If you believe you can simplify it by blaming it on one political party, you're a victim of their propaganda.
#64. I spent 4 weeks in hospital recently as well. Had a heart bypass operation. Total cost to me - nil, nix, nada, nothing. Mind you, I live in New Zealand, where hospital visits are paid by the government, using our average 22% income tax to finance it all. You in the USA ? Well, you're doing it wrong if companies are making money off the people's healthcare.
#64 shark... congrats! you are one in a million lucky. I have no idea what health ins you have, but most of us aren't that lucky. So somewhat higher taxes for reasonably priced health care?... sign me up!!!
Meanwhile I though for too long they we're quadruplets in #2... (health care should be affordable for anyone and not something rich can make more money off!)
