by the looks of it hospitals in USA love to charge arm and leg just for being there

7k for a MRI? In UK I get it for free. In Germany I had to pay only ~$450 and that included a coffee

Ooooh, never realized that having proper insurance means you'll die in an "socialized medical clinic"! But yes, nobody gets out of a hospital alive here in Germany...
