#21 Wisconsin had a similar law. It was really about the dairy industry trying to get laws passed to save their a$$es in the marketplace. Margarine is gray colored by nature, so manufacturers color it yellow like butter to make it more appealing. In WI, they outlawed that so real butter would have a forced advantage in the grocery stores.

Businesses love the government to stay ay out of their way, until they don't.
