@Martial - one of the reasons domestic violence committed by women isn't more accurately reported is that women tend commit domestic violence in surreptitious ways - such as acting as if they did something by accident, or setting up something that will happen when they're not there, or by incapacitating a man beforehand. I've had it happen to me multiple times. Also, I've known guys who were drugged, then stabbed/beaten/burned in their sleep. It has been reported that women actually commit domestic violence at twice the rate men do.
