#9 $88 million is WAY too low. The Friends cast make $20 million per year per person in residuals, and have been since the show ended 10 years ago.

So there you have it: the actor to make the most money by playing one character is none other than Robert Downey Jr. His run as Tony Stark/Iron Man in the MCU is the most lucrative contract in Hollywood and he’ll make close to half a billion by 2019 after Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War & Avengers 4.

It’s crazy to think that 10 years ago, the MCU wasn’t even a thing, Robert Downey Jr. wasn’t even a bankable actor, and here we are. Making only $500,000 in the first film of the franchise, he upgraded his salary to $10 million for Iron Man 2 and it’s only gone up from there. Not only has he gotten his career back, but he’s made a huge payday out of it.

Let’s hope that he extends his contract after 2019, because I’d pay more to see more of RDJ kicking ass with some serious Stark snark.
