#1 actually, the bigger the diameter the more of the paper you get...but in reality, it doesn't matter, you are buying some set length (in this case its even indicated on the top cover)

Modern capitalism is just greed and lies run rampant. Everyone hates it but nobody does anything about it. It's time for the proletariat to rise up and overthrow the bourgeoisie! ...Or we could just stay home, get fat eating pizza and watching Netflix and then order some more useless junk on Amazon. *sigh*

Also the ends are likely covered for protection. And if they wound it tighter it woulde be harder to lay flat.

There are many blatant scams out there. It pays to be a savvy shopper. That is why although I love online shopping I also dislike the fact that consumers cannot touch the products they are buying or get a close enough look in many cases to judge if an item is quality and worth purchasing. Marketing scams are everywhere though.
