Would be even better to only get a pet if you can and want to keep it, that way we wouldn't need shelters at all...

rather make it that all shelters are no kill. id be ok if some of my tax money didn't go over seas and went to this instead. i like animals a hell of a lot more than people any way.

Or we could stop glorifying these over-rated vermin and start treating them like we treat rats, and every other invasive species.
