I guess it's a marketing strategy. If you make the same product in a boy and a girl edition, you can perhaps sell twice as many units, compared with just one edition of the product.

There's an old saying: "if you have to ask "why", the answer is money."

In order to sell twice as many you still have to produce twice as many. There is no benefit to that model. I'm a big believer and fan of unisex items as long as they are made well.

It's nice to have colour and variety in life. Do you want everything to be gray and boring?
