Margot Robbie was born on July 2, 1990 in Dalby, Queensland. She grew up on her grandparent’s farm on the Gold Coast with her three siblings and single mother.
Margot worked three jobs to help her mother make ends meet. At 16 she was working at a bar, cleaning houses, and at a Subway sandwich shop.
“Maggot” was the nickname she grew up with. Her family coined it and her classmates followed suit.
After graduating from Somerset College at 17, Margot moved to Melbourne to pursue professional acting.
