Meanwhile, it’s been speculated that geckos' unique ability to stick to surfaces might be related to the invention of Scotch tape in 1992. What’s more, some believe that LED light bulbs could have been based on fireflies. According to Business Insider, these tiny insects “had a unique exoskeleton that prevented reflection and let most of the light out.”
