#7 is actually pretty smart. The glove keeps dust out of the smoke detector during construction. Saves a lot of false alarms. I'm going to so this when I don't have a factory cover.

LOL, I commented on the idea being smart, not the people. I've seen factory covers not removed.

#4 is actually pretty clever. I've used sheets of plywood for the same purpose. If anyone has a better idea for walking across that glass, please share.

#4- use a boom lift so you don't have to walk on the glazing system.
