On March 17, George R. R. Martin posted an update on his blog, detailing his reaction to the Coronavirus outbreak
In his blog, Martin detailed how his local community was affected by the Coronavirus outbreak. He updated his fans on the measures they took to ensure people’s safety as well as reassured everyone about his personal health.In one paragraph, he revealed that he’s currently self-isolating and “spending more time in Westeros than in the real world,” suggesting that the author is working on the last remaining two books in the Ice and Fire series.Albeit the reason for his return to writing might not be optimal, it’s understandable why fans would be excited about potentially seeing the release of Wind of Winter, considering that the previous chapter of the series, A Dance with Dragons came out all the way back in 2011.
