perhaps it doesn't physically capsize the boat, but instead the attacking of the person on the small boat by the swan results in the capsization... uhh er something

Canoes can sit pretty heavy in the water, especially with a couple of people. I can see how a knock from a large swan could tip it and cause it to fill rapidly, especially if the people lose their balance and also fall in. Now is a perfect time to start opening up your brain and learn something new.
