My teen years:

No VCRs. If you missed a show, you had to pray for a rerun, which often didn't happen.

No answering machines. If someone called, and you weren't home, they had to call back omfg!

Doo Wop music was still on the radio through my teen years.

Sports playoffs were actually playoffs, ie between the two or four best teams. Not this nonsense whereby every team except the few bottom feeders makes the 'playoffs'.

We played stickball. In the street. And hockey. And football.

'Downloading' music meant taping it off the radio, announcements and all.

Sports on TV only showed the score or the clock occasionally, and rarely at the same time. If you wanted to know what the score was, and how much time was left, you had to *pay attention*!!!

Do I need to say no video games?

At the movies, people shut up and watched in silence.

If I think of more of these gems, I'll stop back.

Wonderful: RE movies: that's because we were at the drive-in and if we talked we got smacked in the head.

Looks like it's old folks night around here. I'm a product of the 40's!!! So, all of these comments apply to me also. Well, except one. Until now, I've never heard of a hypercolor shirt. Guess I wasn't paying attention when it came around.
