I'm sorry to say I don't know as much about arabic- and muslim-influenced art as I would like. But I've always been taught that in these cultures, it is not acceptable to depict humans or animals in art. Can someone please tell me if this something new, or unusual, that there are people depicted in these images? I apologize for not knowing more about this.

Also: thumbs up to these poignant and compelling illustrations!

Energy Inn, Why aren't they portrayed as Chinese? China has sent a load of Doctors to help in Iran to help fight the outbreak. Also, Farsi doctors are simply not black, brown or blue or whatever you think they might be!

@Experience, its religious historical figures that should not be depicted, however, it can vary. Most places may show a body with a glowing light for the face. In Iran, they actually may show a face, but it also varies when those images were made.
