The first few “syrup-chugging” takes were done with thick iced-tea, but it didn’t look realistic enough. So, real syrup was brought in which the actors chugged for several takes and is what we see in the close-up shots.

In order to maintain continuity from the first film, director Jay Chandrasekhar refused to shoot the sequel until the original cast were at the same weight they were before.
