I enjoyed Moon and Ex machina but my favorite on this list was Arrival, a very thought provoking movie about contact with alien life.

Moon was very decent. If you missed 2017's Otherlife that was also a very good watch. I felt The Arrival was extremely dull and boring with very limited plot. Neon Demon was so stupid it was unwatchable. Not all films that try to make statements are interesting.

I couldn't understand The Arrival because the stars were whispering the entire movie. The plot was trying to translate the alien language to communicate. Hell, you had to translate the humans too!
