The book adaptions Ender's Game and Wrinkle in Time were not only a disgrace to the source material but didn't even make any sense for people that didn't read the books.

Stealth (2005)

Ah, good ol’ Stealth. A movie that maybe five people still remember, despite being directed by the man behind The Fast and the Furious and xXx, and starring Jamie Foxx and Jessica Biel? Do you remember it? I don’t, and having a $138 million budget didn’t help things either. This one ended up losing $56 million and was immediately sent to the dust bin of history.
