as is stated "The Golden Gate Bridge opening to the public for the first time back in 1937, and yes, it almost collapsed." What is to say that the bridge is comprised as a result and some day soon it will collapse and after all this time who can take the blame for it happening?

39 isn't opening day. It's the day they added the footprints. Star Wars wasn't huge on day one; it took some time for word of mouth to build.
