#4 Just to clarify, a Florida sheriff saw a humorous Facebook posting about a group wanting to shoot at the coming hurricane. Said sheriff decided that the group was serious and posted a warning about shooting guns at an unpredictable weather event.

Which I get, because the round that is fired has to go somewhere. Unless you fire it directly out toward sea, the likelihood of it hitting something is there. The likelihood of that something being valuable or worthwhile is minuscule, granted, but still a likelihood.

But still, the sheriff comes off as a nincompoop, not getting the joke.

ZombieDarwin,

It's because the hurricane wasn't black.

Manoah,

Is, um, is there, uh, is there such a thing as a white hurricane?

/It's amazing how you can expose one person's ignorance with just one question, isn't it?

"In the 80’s, A&W attempted to compete with McDonald’s “quarter-pounder” burger by selling a “third-pounder” for the same price. The operation failed tremendously, with virtually no one buying the burger. When they surveyed customers for an explanation, the majority of customers responded that they “didn’t want to pay the same price for less meat.”

Their customers genuinely believed that one third was less than one fourth and refused to try the new A&W burger because of it."
