Are non-Americans really this ignorant or is it just an internet thing?

Jacobus, People are genuinely interested. American stuff is alien to the larger part of the world.

Lizzie,

It's like watching monkeys.
Not really interesting, yet you are still curious what goes on in their heads.

Don't non-Americans have anything better to do than constantly watch and comment on what Americans are doing?

Alanson,

I'd go a step further and say 1) Americans love trucks in real life, too, not just on TV. And 2) People in other parts of the world who have owned pickups probably love them too -- what's not to love?!? Versatility, capability ... not to mention free beer for younger men (after all, how does any man in his 20s move to a new apartment if he doesn't have a truck? call the friend with the truck and say "there's a case of beer in it for you if you help me move!)

Lol ... seriously, helping others is a big part of the draw. That's my favorite part of owning a pickup. That and not having to pay for furniture/appliance delivery.

Did Americans really fight two world wars for you because you were all busy holding your hands up in the air?

-Do the Germans really start a world war every couple of generations, or is that just in the movies?

-Do the British really have horrible, brown, crooked teeth, or is that just on the BBC?

-Do the French really have awful, bad, body odor, or is that just in the movies?

Hey, stereotyping really is a lot fun, Izismile!! More of these, please.

Why does this bother people from other places? We are all different. Like you, if we didn't like these things, we would CHANGE them. I don't care that Brits call cookies "biscuits" or hamburger meat "mince meat". That's just two things off the top of my head out of the hundreds that they do different. And, yes, we do use the term "off the top of my head". If you weren't happy with it you would probably change it. Or, move. Just PLEASE don't come here. We already have our limit of that horrid accent!!! JC_doubledown
